Use of cannabis on the rise in Spain. According to the latest data from the Madrid’s Ministry of Health, 9.5% of the population aged between 15 and 64 admits to having consumed marijuana in the last year. They were 9.3% in 2013. Moreover, 2.1% say they smoke weed every day. The Iberian consumer profile is that of a male (74%) between 15 and 34 (60%) who consumes an average of 2.5 joints per day, which in 90% of cases is prepared with the addition of tobacco. The survey on a sample of more than 22,000 people also shows a stabilization in the use of cigarette and a decrease in consumption of alcohol.
