Jamaica Marijuana Finally Decriminalized In Jamaica

The Stoned Society

Sunday 13 Oct 2013

Marijuana possession will no longer end up on your criminal record

IMG_20131012_174414The motion to decriminalize marijuana was passed on Tuesday, after being brought to the House of Representatives. The motion brought by Raymond Pryce, Member of Parliament for North East St. Elizabeth, asked for the removal of criminal sanctions with proper monitoring and regulations.

It required an extensive debate, but Mr. Pryce argued criminal prohibition didn’t have the outcome that they expected, instead marijuana should be monitored and regulated.

While it’s still far from legal, people who do get caught possessing marijuana, will no longer have it end up on their criminal record.
