UK Letter: We Should Listen to Reason Elizabeth Campbell Clarke Evening News, Norwich Saturday 07 Sep 2013 I was impressed by the logic of his argument that cannabis users should be granted a secure place for gatherings just as alcohol drinkers can gather at pubs without police threatening arrests. this, to me, is such a reasonable point of view that it should be supported by all those with a sense of justice and fairness. Mr Buffry is at pains to point out that cannabis smokers have no wish to force the public to accept their chosen leisure choice and hence the need for a place of their own. I cannot see how any reasonable person could object to this. For myself, I would rather be in the company of quiet, relaxed smokers than in a noisy pub. I observed the gathering last Sunday in Chapelfield Park well away from areas where children might be playing and concluded that this event had been organised in a responsible way by responsible non-violent people.
