Second-Hand Clothes Seller To Hang For Drug Trafficking

SHAH ALAM, Aug 27 (Bernama) -- A second-hand clothes seller was sentenced to death by the High Court here Thursday for trafficking in cannabis five years ago.

Justice Datuk Syed Ahmad Helmy Syed Ahmad ruled that Khairul Idzham Khairuddin, 37, had failed to cast a doubt on the prosecution's case.

He found Khairul Idzham guilty of trafficking in 4,300gm of cannabis at No: 16, Lorong AU 3/3A, Hulu Klang, Ampang, at about 4.45am on Feb 23, 2004.

The offence under section 39B (1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 carries the mandatory death sentence upon conviction.
