Letter: It is fascism under any other name

Carl Wagner

Hull Daily Mail

Thursday 23 Jul 2009

Rather than take the word of politicians or a biased press regarding the BNP, I decided to read their policies so I could decide for myself.
Under the BNP, people would be forced to give samples of their hair and urine on arrival at work so their private lives could be monitored. People in bus queue’s and railway stations would be routinely sniffed with dogs, and have their pockets and bags searched.
A huge propaganda and misinformation campaign would be launched, urging people to inform on their neighbours, and thousands of family homes would have their doors smashed in by terror squads armed with batons, taser guns and CS gas.
Houses would be searched, property seized, and anybody not conforming to the governments idea of the perfect citizen would be arrested.
In other words, they would do exactly what successive Labour and Conservative governments have been doing to cannabis users, including the sick and dying, for almost 40 years. It is Fascism under any name.
How many of the forty one councillors who signed the ‘anti-Nazi’ letter are willing to condemn this atrocious policy, and are those who support the policy willing to say why they support it?
